Tips for Breakfast before the Interview

Saturday, July 31st, 2010

Your resume caught some attention. You got the call to come in for an interview. Today is the day of the interview and you want to make sure that you are making the right impression. This is easy to do as long as you are properly prepared. Since most interviewers like to do interviews in the morning, it is a good idea to pay attention to the kind of breakfast that you will be eating in the morning. A simple bowl of bran may not be enough.

Do Not Overload

A good breakfast does not mean getting everything on the breakfast buffet so that you will not have to eat for the rest of the day. While a good balanced meal will leave you energized and ready for the day, a huge heavy breakfast will weigh you down and slow you down. You will feel lethargic before you ever even get in the room for the interview. Instead, choose something balanced with a good amount of protein and starch.

Watch the Coffee

All of you caffeine heads need to make sure that you are watching the amount of coffee that you are drinking before an interview. There are two reasons for this. The first is that a huge coffee surplus will leave you jittery. Additionally, when you drink too much coffee, you will not be able to stay out of the bathroom. Bear in mind that one of the pitfalls of coffee is that you will have a crash after the caffeine high.

Pay Attention to the Paper Your Resume Is On

Friday, July 30th, 2010

Writing your resume is about the single most important thing in terms of being able to find a good job. This is because it is the first way that a new job will discover you. They will be able to learn about you and everything you have done in the past. They will learn about your accomplishments and your goals for the future. It is understandable that you want to make sure that your resume sticks out from the rest of the crowd. How does the paper affect this?

Steer Clear of Colored Paper

Unless you are attempting whimsy, it is not a good idea to use pastel colored paper. There are very few colors which are acceptable other than white when it comes to the paper your resume is printed on. This is because those looking at your resume simply will not take you seriously. This is a problem since any job which requires a resume is one which you will want to be taken seriously in.

Look at Paper Quality

For those really looking to make an impression when you are turning in a resume is to choose a higher quality paper. The higher the quality of the paper, the more you will give the impression that you are not simply handing out resumes to every company in the city. Decide on paper which is made of either cotton or flax as these have a good weight as well as a silky texture.
